This material is exceptionally pretty for small inlays and is becoming more popular for high end cues. The center of each piece is known as "Core Ivory" and has a crystallized crushed glass look. The exterior ring of ivory has various colors from a cream color to dark brown with each piece being different with differing shades of colors. This material is expensive but it is pretty and has a look of its own.

These are usually cross sectional slabs but sometimes longitudinal core material slabs. Each shows the beauty of the core center material of fossilized walrus tusks. While this material is very dense it works easily with conventional tools. Core ivory in FWI has a very attractive look. It resembles a burl with an intense marbled pattern. In lighter cream colored specimen it looks like solidified tapioca.

Once you have made your purchase you can email us through our contact page to let us know if you prefer lighter colored material (cream and off white) or darker colors such as the tans and browns. Seldom are the cores as dark as the outside ring area.

See our " Material Working Tips " page for info on how to work this material.

A great way to add beauty and value to your cues.

Colors vary from cream colored to dark brown. Each is a different shade of fossil walrus ivory! We cannot guarantee color but you can request if you want light as in a cream color or you can request dark as in tans and browns and we will try to fill your request. If you do not like what we have sent you then you can return for refund or for different slabs.
