But unlike the shim kits, the veneer technique is used to raise the saddle in very small increments (.020"). This is a very common occurrence where you just "barely" sanded the saddle a bit too far.

For raising the saddle such small amounts, this method is quicker and easier. Like the shim kit, permanently installing a veneer shim is acoustically transparent and repeatable. We use rosewood for the veneer as opposed to to ebony as the ebony is extremely brittle and very difficult to use as a veneer material. Both materials are extremely effective for use as a shim material.

The veneer sheet is large enough to get about 8 - 10 shim applications.
