Available in both Glazed Finish Jet Black and in Glazed Finish Cognac Brown, this page is for our black skins. The Cognac color is a very sharp dark reddish-brown.

Also known as Water Monitor (Varanus salvator) these skins are direct from Indonesia.

Ring lizard skins are very durable and have an elegant look on a violin bow. It is firmer to the touch than goat skin with a tactile feeling that conveys strength and durability.

Skins are about 250mm by 250mm (10" X 10"). Selected for fine scale pattern rather than for overall skin size. Tanned and milled specifically to our violin bow wrap specified thickness of .5 mm - .6 mm plus or minus .1 mm.

Our skins are legally imported with all proper government permits from USDA and US F&W. Proper humane and veterinary procedures were followed in the raising, harvest, sanitary preparation, human health requirements and export of the skins from Indonesia. These skins are from farm raised lizards (they are raised for food in Indonesia).
