German Silver Wire
German Silver Violin Bow Wrapping Wire.
German Silver is sometimes called Nickel Silver and is an alloy of copper, nickel and zinc.
Our wire is .012" diameter which is .30 mm diameter and is available in 1 ounce and in 1 pound spools.
Not all Nickel Silver will wind correctly on bow diameter applications. The Nickel Silver alloy we carry is 65% copper, 17% Nickel and 18% zinc.
We specify this alloy, with a particular draw temper, as this combination has proven ideal for the small size wrapping needed in violin bow making.
