Imitation Tortoise Shell for 1911 Gun Grips
Imitation tortoise shell for gun grips.
This is the most realistic imitation tortoise shell we have seen.
A high quality cellulose acetate that is not brittle and chippy like acrylic. Machined (milled) on each surface and double sided so it conveys its beauty equally from either side and throughout.
Works with conventional tools and takes a high polish by hand buffing with paste wax or 1725 RPM buffing wheel with jewelers rouge. This is the good stuff. Not the cheap flimsy faux tortoise seen commonly.
To make this material pop in an application, spray the back side with a spray adhesive and lay it onto a sheet of gold leaf (or a light colored paper for inlay work). This will make an inlay, knife handle or gun grip pop in beauty.
