We import this directly from Japan where the finest silk thread is made. This is not your cheap ebay silk thread.
We have sought out the ideal thickness of silk for violin bow winding and we have also sought out a quality thread. This silk thread is the high quality material you want for your customers. It wraps beautifully with no crimping or binding. Use as an all silk wrapping material or in woven conjunction with our tinsel wrapping.
When we researched silk for bow wrapping we found that thread sizes are supposed to be made to an industry standard size but they are not. This is Size "F" but Size "F" will vary in size from maker to maker much like women's clothing sizes vary. A size 6 dress at one store may be larger or smaller than at the next store. We asked leading bow makers to provide silk thread samples of the correct size and found this size in this brand to be correct.
